An Investigation into Improving Communication to Students with Enhance Remote Learning Experiences

The purpose of this report investigates a complex virtual software (Shapespark) utilised by the AEC industry that can be integrated into higher education’s communication tool for students & lecturers to conduct their learning/teaching in a 3D meeting space for an engaging and interactive experience. To deliver this, a case study from Ulster University Belfast campus was used to conduct data collection within the modelled 3D virtual space. The findings of this research lead to an alignment of data collected from the focus group and information obtained from the literature review which illustrate the difficulties students encounter in an online environment and the struggles of engaging through online teaching.
