Find out more about why this year's Finalists have been nominated:

Daniel Crann FCIAT

Daniel's passion about how the built environment can contribute to positive change for society as a whole puts him at the forefront of landmark schemes across the UK for Corstorphine & Wright and at 34 years old, is one of the practice's youngest Associate Directors. His combination of skills, experience, and passion continually impress both within the practice, and its clients. Daniel explores and uses fresh, new ideas, pushing the boundaries with design and delivery to achieve excellence at the initial stages of a project through to completion.

As well as forging his own strong career, Daniel is keen to inspire the next generation of Architectural Technologists, setting up and taking guardianship of his practice's internal CIAT mentor programme and assisting employees of varying professional backgrounds, every step of the way, to achieve Chartered status. He is also an excellent team leader, always taking the time to listen to and support his team. In 2019, he stepped into the role of coordinating the resource teams in the Corstorphine & Wright Birmingham studio, and has been instrumental in the Studio's success.

Tom Gray MCIAT

Tom is a talented Architectural Technology professional with a profound conviction for the technology of architecture and an absolute dedication to the discipline of Architectural Technology. He is enthusiastic, always up for a challenge, ready to dedicate himself for promotion of the profession, with no hesitation to give back to his programme at university and support students in higher education. He also commits his personal time to learn skills and provide services that he believes will not only help him grow and succeed even further but also help the community.

Tom's diverse, agile and dynamic method of adopting and/or adapting to any given context, no matter the challenge, has enabled him to act well within the framework of the AT's traditional role. His adaptive working culture, high skills, and deep-rooted commitment to the discipline also enables him to shift quickly and effectively, taking on leading roles in conceptualisation and realisation of a project. Tom's ability to switch roles as the technology lead at Robert Shreeve Associates Ltd is an unrivalled asset but probably second to his capability to brief clients, bring the team on board and up to speed with the ever-changing nature of the market demand and lead the team through to successful delivery of a project.
