Online event | Launch: Closing the gap towards net zero carbon new-build homes

Webinar 10 am-11.30 am, 20 Oct 2022

Launch of a new report designed to help accelerate the delivery of new net zero carbon homes for large-scale housing.

Join for the launch of UKGBC’s report examining the design changes needed to deliver new homes that achieve ambitious energy and embodied carbon targets, and the feasibility of doing so. The study uses a real-world, large-scale residential scheme as a starting point from which carbon and cost modelling has been undertaken to achieve best practice performance targets (LETI and RIBA). The study follows on from an initial report published earlier this year examining interventions to reduce embodied carbon at the masterplan level.

Attendees can expect to:

  • Gain insight into the report’s key findings and have the opportunity to ask questions;
  • Hear from the project team and industry experts on how we might achieve net zero for new homes;
  • Understand key changes needed to the current delivery model for new homes;
  • Discuss outstanding barriers to progress (and identify potential solutions); and
  • Examine the updates required to new homes policy (Future Homes Standard) to deliver homes that are compatible with the UK’s net zero target.
