Northern Ireland

The Northern Ireland Regional Committee would like to invite members to join the annual Ulster University TALK AT and End of Year Show event, taking place online via a live webcast, on the evening of Thursday 17 June 2021, from 19:00-20:15.

This year, the annual presentation will be by Kayleigh Houde from Buro Happold entitled, Let’s talk about embodied carbon in AEC. The presentation is aimed at increasing awareness of the potential for embodied carbon assessment at any stage of building design using the collaborative, technological approach within BHoM’s Life Cycle Assessment Toolkit, an open source approach to combatting climate change. Kayleigh is the global Computational Community Leader for Buro Happold and part of the team that developed the AIA award winning BHoM Life Cycle Assessment Toolkit.

There will also be updates from the VU.City team on their 3D Belfast model and from the President, and Ulster University graduate, Eddie Weir PCIAT.

The event will also showcase work from the Architectural Technology and Management graduating cohort, including a series of rapid research presentations.

This is an evening of CPD not to be missed. It will provide a (virtual) opportunity to catch up with friends and view and listen to the work of the next generation of Architectural Technologists.

Numbers on the online platform are limited, so to avoid disappointment please register and reserve a place ASAP. Once registered you will receive joining instructions.

Everyone is welcome to attend, practitioners, academics and students - Please register here

The event this year is once again supporting the important work of the Architects Benevolent Society (ABS). For additional information on their work and to make a voluntary donation please click on this link - absnet.org.uk
