Role Description

Saunders Architects currently have vacancies for experienced senior Architectural Technologists to strengthen the delivery team based at our Welwyn Garden City office. Opportunities exist to work within established teams on a variety of projects across differing sectors including residential, education, senior living, commercial, retail and mixed-use schemes.

Founded in 1988 and currently employing around 50 people, we are a well-established and busy RIBA Chartered Practice with a reputation for excellence in design and delivery. We offer a full design service and are capable of working through all RIBA Workstages on projects of varying sizes and complexity whilst maintaining a high degree of professionalism. Our expanding workload and client base has led to a varied and impressive portfolio.

Application Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years post qualification experience within the UK (a degree in Architectural Technology is desirable, but not essential) and applicants must have previous experience of working within an architectural practice
  • Possess the relevant skills and competence to assist with the management of projects
  • Have sound technical and construction knowledge and be able to prepare accurate detailed drawings, schedules and specification notes
  • Be able to monitor production information flow, quality and accuracy including overseeing the work produced by others within a team structure
  • Sound knowledge of current UK Building Regulations
  • Knowledge of all RIBA Workstages, but practical experience in delivering projects within RIBA Stages 3-5 is essential, including having experience of working directly with clients and other design team members
  • Be able to produce clear, coordinated, and well-presented Stage 4 & 5 documents
  • Be self-motivated and be able to carry out duties with the minimum of supervision
  • Have a clear understanding of the design process
  • Be able to manage workload and prioritise tasks in order to meet deadlines
  • Proficient use of Revit essential, Autocad desirable
