The Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists is committed to a diverse and competitive construction sector, which provides Architectural Technology professionals with a wide range of opportunities to win and deliver both public and private sector projects.

The Public Procurement Act 2023, which changes the way UK procurement operates, came into effect on Monday 24 February 2025. On these pages, you will find information and advice on public procurement and contracting in the UK, including the bidding process, legislation and CPD opportunities, as well as CIAT’s best practice public procurement principles.

The Institute is aware that Chartered Architectural Technologists are sometimes excluded from public procurement processes, for example due to confusion around the skills and competencies of Chartered Architectural Technologists. If you have concerns regarding a specific procurement process, please contact Joanne Rowlands ([email protected]) or [email protected]. You may also wish to raise concerns about UK public procurement exercises via the Government’s Public Procurement Review Service
