With the introduction of the Building Safety Act 2022 and the associated secondary legislation, including the Building Regulations etc. (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2023, new dutyholder roles and responsibilities have been established for Clients, Designers and Contractors.

Principal Designers and Principal Contractors must now plan, manage and monitor their respective duties to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations, including coordination of design work and effective communication across the project team.
