The Rt Hon. the Lord Blunkett is the keynote speaker. His address will consider the workforce and skills implications of Heathrow’s proposed expansion.

This will be followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A exploring the client perspective on skills within the construction and infrastructure supply chain, with a particular focus on apprenticeships, technical education and workforce development.

Chaired by Paul Skitt, Education Director at Flannery Plant, the panel will include:

  • the Rt Hon. the Lord Blunkett
  • Peter Gow, Project Lead, HS2 Old Oak Common
  • Samantha King, Skills and Employment, Lower Thames Crossing
  • Andrew Dakers, Chief Executive, West London Business
  • Ali Awcock, Infrastructure Delivery and Strategic Planning Director, Heathrow

The Summit will provide an opportunity to share insight into current and future workforce needs, strengthen collaboration between employers and education providers, and consider how apprenticeships can help develop the skills required for major infrastructure projects.

Registration for the event will be from 2pm at the University of West London's Ealing Campus. The formal programme will conclude at 4.30pm, followed by networking and refreshments.
