Local authorities reappointed for Building Control in Scotland

Scottish Ministers have re-appointed all 32 Scottish Local Authorities as verifiers under section 7 of the Building (Scotland) Act 2003 from 1 May 2017. The period of appointments differ (six years, three years or one year) depending on past performance of the individual local authority.

CIAT VP Technical Kevin Crawford commented: 'It is pleasing to see the continued support from the Scottish Government for Local Authorities running Building Control Services. This re-affirms the need for the service to remain as a service which is available to public and professional alike.'
