Cambridgeshire practice wins award
It’s celebration time for Ely-based architectural practice Cambridge Architectural Design after winning the 'Most Innovative Architectural Practice' category in the Build magazine 2017 awards. The judges were impressed by the initiatives introduced by the Practice, commenting that 'Success in the awards is a true achievement, and a testament to your services to the industry.'
Among the initiatives praised were the ability to accept payments via the online platform PayPal and the Practice’s willingness to produce documents in multiple languages.
Recognising the size of the UK’s European workforce, the Practice decided to offer technical drawings in all Eastern European languages, a first for architectural practices in the south of England.
Working hours have been extended to include evenings and weekends. This has allowed the Practice to serve the majority of its clients, people who work regular office hours, who may need to make contact to find out about their projects in the evenings.
Director and Chartered Architectural Technologist Lee Smith MCIAT said: 'We are delighted to win this award, beating off competition from multi-million pound practices. We strive to improve our working culture with every single project.'
