Charity 'overwhelmed' by Institute support

Institute raises over £6000 for Children and Families Matter

Hampshire charity Youth and Families Matter (YFM) was delighted to receive a cheque for over £6,000 from the South East Region. Presented last weekend at The Chapel café and charity shop in Totton, the money was raised from the Friday night social event held as part of the AGM weekend in Southampton last November.

With a raffle, auction, photobooth, sweet trolley and lots more, members of the Institute raised this magnificent sum to help continue the work of Totton based charity YFM. The Mayor of Southampton was also in attendance.

Kelly Price, YFM’s team leader said: 'As a small charity we have been overwhelmed by CIAT’s support, enthusiasm and commitment to raising money for us. Even though we have been around for over 20 years, it is always a challenge to secure money to continue what we do. Often national organisations support national charities so to be supported in this way with such an incredible amount being raised for us on just the one night is fantastic. This money will really help us to continue to make a difference in our community.'

Alex Naraian MCIAT, President Elect CIAT and Former South East Regional Councillor said: 'We were delighted to be able to support YFM. It was a fantastic evening that helped raise such a fantastic sum and we couldn’t’ be happier handing this over to YFM to help continue their work supporting children, young people and families in the community.'
