Chartered Member appointed WorldSkills BIM Manager

Malachy Mathews MCIAT has been appointed WorldSkills Competition Skill Manager for BIM for the Shanghai WorldSkills event next year.

Malachy Mathews MCIAT, Senior Lecturer in the School of Architecture at Technological University Dublin (DIT), has been appointed WorldSkills Competition Manager for Building Information Modelling for the Worldskills event, in Shanghai, in September 2021.

He is module coordinator for the Building Information Modelling and is the BIM leader in the School of Architecture and takes a leading role in BIM development in the College of Engineering and Built Environment. Malachy played a central role in the creation of Ireland's first MSc in applied Building Information Modelling/Management. He is currently a PhD candidate research in DIT researching BIM Anthropology and a side research interest in the synergies between BIM+Blockchain.

WorldSkills Shanghai 2021 will be held from 22-27 September 2021. More than 1,300 competitors from over 60 WorldSkills Member countries and regions will compete in 56 skills. Find out more about the competition here.
