CIAT becomes CCPI Organisation Associate
As an Organisation Associate, CIAT is committing to support and promote the Code for Construction Product Information and its registration and assessment process across its membership and professional network. This reflects a shared commitment to improving the quality, clarity and integrity of construction product information used across the built environment.
Through this status, CIAT will help raise awareness of the importance of clear, accurate, up-to-date and unambiguous product information and encourage engagement with the Code across the wider industry.
The CCPI was created to promote an urgent and positive culture and behaviour change in the way the construction product manufacturing industry manages and provides information and marketing on its products. It was initiated and developed by the Construction Product Association (CPA) in consultation across the built environment sector as a direct response to Dame Judith Hackitt’s review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety, set up in the wake of the Grenfell Tower tragedy. The CCPI is managed by CPI Ltd, the independently run, not-for-profit organisation established to oversee the Code and its assessment process.
Amanda Long, Chief Executive of CPI Ltd, the not-for-profit independently governed organisation set up to manage the CCPI, said:
We welcome the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists as a CCPI Organisation Associate. Architectural Technologists are central to the specification and technical coordination of construction products, and the clarity and accuracy of product information directly affects their ability to make informed decisions. CIAT’s support reinforces the importance of raising standards in construction product information across the entire built environment.
