CIAT briefing on NPPF and planning reform
On 17 August 2026, the government published the outcomes of its consultation on reform of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), alongside the resulting NPPF for England, which has been substantially redrafted and revised. This builds on a range of recent reforms to local planning, which aim to support the delivery of 1.5 million new homes over this parliament.
