Insurance impact in the wake of Grenfell

Responses to Grenfell disaster

As a full member of CIC, and a critical contributor in the post Grenfell response, CIAT has been invited to seek information regarding our members’ experience with their insurance company’s response to Grenfell and to gather any data which may inform the work currently being undertaken.

This data is aimed to support anecdotal evidence that, in the wake of the Grenfell Tower fire, insurance companies are revising terms for professional indemnity and other forms of insurance, which could make it difficult for some organisations to continue to be involved in areas that are deemed higher risk. This survey is intended to help the Ministry of Housing, Community and Local Government Industry Response Group understand the extent of this problem and how it could impact the capacity of the sector.

If your insurance is with CIAT Insurances via MFL Limited, we are aware of its position; however, for the purpose of the survey please do complete the survey so it is can be collated by CIC for a fair representation of the situation out in practise as it appears there is a wide range of responses from the insurance industry.

The short survey can be accessed by clicking here, all responses are anonymous and go directly to CIC.

The closing date is Friday 2 March.
