London Festival of Architecture 2019: call for entries
The call for entries for the London Festival of Architecture 2019 is now open: an opportunity for all individuals and organisations interested in London’s built environment to be part of the world’s largest architecture festival when it returns to the capital on 1-30 June 2019. The theme of the London Festival of Architecture 2019 is ‘boundaries’ – a theme that the organisers hope will inspire a rich, diverse and entertaining public programme.
The call for entries has been opened early to allow event organisers as much time as possible to devise submit their ideas, and to give organisers the opportunity to develop their ideas with feedback from the Festival’s curation panel. The relevant deadlines are as follows:
- 11 January 2019: early bird deadline for events to be considered by the first curation panel
- 8 March 2019: final deadline for submission to the final curation panel
Organisers submitting events after 8 March 2019 will be charged £50 to cover additional administration costs.
The London Festival of Architecture is now firmly established as the world’s largest annual architecture festival. The curation panel for the London Festival of Architecture comprises:
Robert Bevan – architecture critic for the London Evening Standard
- Sarah Castle – founding director of IF_DO
- Tom Guy – partner at Guy Piper Architects
- Meneesha Kellay – public programmes curator at the RIBA
- David Ogunmuyiwa – founder of ArchitectureDoingPlace
- Sumitra Upham – curator of public programmes at the Design Museum
Tamsie Thomson, director of the London Festival of Architecture, said:
'We’ve now fired the start gun for the London Festival of Architecture 2019. What makes the LFA unique is our open call – that means anyone with a great idea can put on an event. It’s this unique range of event organisers that adds real vibrancy and diversity to our annual programme.
'With our fascinating ‘boundaries’ theme for 2019, and with the support of our talented and insightful curation panel, I’m looking forward to an exceptional public programme for LFA2019. We want as many people as possible to be inspired and enthused, and I’m urging anyone with an interest in London’s built environment to step up, get involved, and be part of our amazing London Festival of Architecture in June 2019.'
