LPCB's withdrawal of certification from Kingspan
Update from BRE
BRE's charitable trustees took the decision last year that BRE and LPCB would no longer do business with Kingspan, and communicated this decision to Kingspan in August 2022.
At the time Kingspan were also notified that they would be contacted by the respective BRE teams in connection with any current listings and certificates as to when they would be withdrawn.
The audit requirements to maintain third party certification from LPCB include annual audit testing and ongoing Factory Production Control (FPC) surveillance. Without this activity, any active certificates lapse at the end of their validity period.
The BRE trustees' decision meant that LPCB would no longer carry out audits and surveillance activity on Kingspan's facilities. BRE notified Kingspan in June 2023 that certificates would therefore be withdrawn and Kingspan communicated this decision to its customers at that point.
BRE has had a number of questions from Kingspan customers and is publishing an update to help address this uncertainty in the market around projects and products.
