NBS Sustainable Futures survey 2024

NBS, working with RIBA and Glenigan, has launched its 2024 survey about sustainability.

Climate change is a global issue, with the built environment and construction sector having a major role to play – in 2022 it accounted for 34% of energy demand and 37% of CO2 emissions. NBS says its past research has shown that many in the industry recognise this and aim to create sustainable buildings and infrastructure.

But what actual progress has the industry made since the last Sustainable Futures report in 2022? What are the barriers to progress and what are the enablers? This is a chance to share your experiences and views.

The survey is open to all those working in construction and the built environment. It takes about 10 minutes or so and for every completed response received, NBS will plant a tree through Carma (up to a maximum of 500 trees).

Those completing the survey will:

  • Get first access to the final report
  • Help NBS plant up to 500 trees
  • Assist NBS in evaluating whether the industry has become more sustainable since 2022
  • Inform NBS' development of tools to help people work sustainably

The survey can be found here and will close at the end of March 2024.
