Practical solutions for scaling the circular economy
Bringing together leading voices from across the built environment, the round table took place on 12 November and tackled the realities behind reuse, recycling, data, incentives and regulation.
A key contributor to the discussion was Chris Halligan MCIAT, Chartered Architectural Technologist and Chartered Environmentalist, representing CIAT as Chair of the Climate Society. Chris offered perspective on the industry's tendency towards "downcycling" and greenwash, and made a case for embedding end-of-life and climate impact into how buildings and materials are assessed and specified.
