Registration discount for CIAT members and affiliates for Planning Portal Virtual Conference 2022

The Planning Portal is hosting its fourth conference virtually on 25-28 April 2022 with registration now open, including a 10% discount for all CIAT members and affiliates.

The Spring Conference will cover the pertinent issues affecting planning and building, both now and in the future.

Four days of presentations from sector-leading speakers and panellists will bring together a wide range of delegates. Business leaders and influencers from across planning and building will discuss four of the most significant topics affecting the industry:

  • Building Safety Programme: The Grenfell Tower Inquiry may still be ongoing, but there have been some big changes in recent months in relation to building safety. The conference will delve into how the system is changing, and the consequent impact on building designers, planners, and local authorities.
  • Urban Regeneration: Urban regeneration can bring back life and prosperity to towns and cities ,and with the impact of COVID on town centres, this has never been more important. The conference will explore the opportunties and challenges of modern urban regeneration and what it means for planning.
  • Retrofit for Net Zero: Aiming to reach the 2050 net zero economy objectives by reducing carbon emissions from existing homes in the UK would mean retrofitting one million homes every single year for the next 30 years. That's five times more homes than are currently built and likely ten times the investment behind HS2 according to Antonia Khayatt, UKGBC Sustainability Consultant (you can read her full article here). The conference will look at what this means in practical terms, and what processes need to be implemented to help reach these extensive targets.
  • The Future of Planning – Local Authority Path Finder Programme: The digital future of planning is something that has been discussed for many years yet is still just as pertinent today due to its likely effect on all aspects of the planning process. Drilling down into this vast topic, the conference will look at local plans to understand the work of the DLUHC Pathfinder programme and what the future may look like.

Registration is now open to all delegates for the event, with the Super Early Bird offer ending at midnight on 5 March 2022. CIAT members and affiliates are also entitled to a further 10% discount.
