RIBA's Stirling Prize shortlist revealed
The RIBA Stirling Prize is presented to 'the architects of the building that has made the greatest contribution to the evolution of architecture in the past year.' The architects must be RIBA members.
RIBA has announced that the following projects have been shortlisted:
- Barretts Grove, a slender brick-clad and wicker-balconied development of six apartments in east London;
- The British Museum World Conservation and Exhibitions Centre, a skilful subterranean extension of a much-loved British institution;
- Command of the Oceans, the striking redevelopment of Chatham Historic Dockyard;
- City of Glasgow College – City Campus, an immense new college campus in the heart of Glasgow;
- Hastings Pier, a vibrant community-led restored pier on the south coast, and;
- Photography Studio for Juergen Teller, an exquisite new photography studio in west London.
The winner will be announced on 31 October at the Roundhouse, London.
