Robust Details latest update

The latest update from Robust Details

The first Robust Details handbook update of 2019 was released last week and the revised version is now available. Simply sign into the website robustdetails.com and download the new version.

This New Year update includes changes to existing Robust Details which increase the options available when using E-WS-1 and E-FS-3; and further information is provided for users of E-WT-2.

For those who make use of light weight steel constructions, we’re pleased to announce that Fusion’s Thermashield pre-insulated factory built panels have now been approved as a flanking option for E-WS-1. Thermashield was included as an option to E-FS-3 in the June update, so this latest update now means that plots can now be registered for complete wall-floor combinations using Thermashield.

E-FS-3 has been expanded to allow a new option involving the use of a generic 16mm resilient bar where a second ceiling is suspended underneath (giving a minimum 150mm additional void).

Finally, the specification for E-WT-2 has been amended to clarify the situation with sheathing boards and the dimensions to be maintained when setting-out. E-WT-2 is most often used where more structural sheathing is required than would be permitted for E-WT-1 – this update explains what can be done where structural considerations allow E-WT-2 wall leafs to be constructed with either partial sheathing, or no sheathing at all.

A complete copy of the most up to date handbook is always available on the website - so you'll never need to worry about amendments. Please note that if you already have any copies of the online handbook saved to your desktop, please ensure that these are removed and replaced with the new version. For those of you that like to maintain a hard copy you can print off the pack from the Downloads section of our website, and insert the pages in your Handbook following the instructions on the first page of the update pack. Previous packs are also available.

As a reminder, by signing up to the website robustdetails.com and creating an account, you can also complete your plot registrations and amendments online too.
