Royal Mail issues architectural stamps

Celebration of British design

The Royal Mail has launched a Special Stamp set, approved by HM the Queen, to celebrate 10 buildings that represent the renaissance of contemporary architecture in the UK of recent years. 

The Landmark Buildings issue uses photography to capture the distinctive lines and shapes of these remarkable structures. 

The buildings that feature in the set are: London Aquatics Centre; Library of Birmingham; SEC Armadillo, Glasgow; Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh; Giants’ Causeway Visitor Centre, Northern Ireland; National Assembly for Wales, Cardiff; Eden Project, St Austell; Everyman Theatre, Liverpool; IWM North, Manchester and the Blavatnik Building – formerly Switch House, Tate Modern, London.

All the buildings in the set have become famous landmarks for the local communities, regions and cities.
