Just the ticket for car park designers
Traditional car park design may become a thing of the past if the outcome of a new government competition is successful.
Business Minister Richard Harrington has invited companies to bid for £30m in funding to support the development of self-driving vehicles on UK roads, with up to £5m for those developing cars which are able to park themselves in a range of different environments.
This will of course have implications for anyone designing car parks as part of a building, as it is likely that self-parking cars will be able to fit into a wider range of spaces than conventionally driven cars.
