UK still 'best opportunity' for Irish construction companies
A recent survey by Enterprise Ireland has suggested that the United Kingdom is still seen as having the 'best near-to-medium term opportunities' for Irish construction companies, although 45% of those surveyed said they have reduced exposure to the UK because of Brexit.
The new publication, in conjunction with Investec, is designed to help support the global ambitions of Irish firms by providing insights into developments across the Republic’s major export markets, as well as the outlook for exchange rates, to support their diversification plans.
Key opportunity areas identified in the UK are largely around housing, ‘Build to Rent’ schemes and public infrastructure.
Threats to investment are thought to be currency volatility when pricing longer term projects, due to economic uncertainty over Britain leaving the European Union.
