Welsh Government makes amendments to Building Regulations
Outlined in this circular, the regulations implement updated 2026 energy efficiency provisions and include a number of technical amendments to existing legislation. These changes also align aspects of the regulations with wider reforms to building control processes and correct errors identified in more recent legislation.
In a separate circular, Amendments to legislation - amendments consequential to the Building Safety Act 2022 and corrections (WGC 004/2026) sets out further amendments to existing legislation to update them in line with the reform of building control processes and correct errors in recent legislation.
