As a growing architectural practice, Freeman Ankerman Partnership Limited (FAP Architects) is seeking a confident and technically capable Architectural Technologist to support the delivery of projects from early design through to construction. Our work spans primary care, acute healthcare, community projects and selective housing and residential developments, with an emphasis on high-quality technical information, coordination and compliance.

This role is primarily office-based and requires strong digital drawing skills. Proficiency in both AutoCAD and Revit is essential.

Core responsibilities

  • Produce accurate existing and proposed drawings using AutoCAD and Revit, based on measured surveys or existing information provided.
  • Assist in the development of design proposals, option studies and coordinated drawing packages across RIBA Stages 2–4.
  • Prepare and update technical drawings, schedules and supporting documentation in line with project development and consultant input.
  • Support the preparation and submission of planning applications, building regulations packages and technical compliance documents (including HBN / HTM familiarity, desirable but not essential).
  • Work closely with the internal team to ensure coordinated information, including structural, MEP and specialist consultant data.
  • Attend occasional site visits and meetings to observe works, capture information, and assist in resolving technical queries.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the office through professional communication, document control and general administrative tasks when required.

  • Solid understanding of construction methods, detailing and technical design.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks to meet deadlines.
  • A proactive, methodical and collaborative working style.
  • Good communication skills and confidence working within a small but highly supportive team.
  • Experience in healthcare or public-sector projects is beneficial but not required.
