Original Field of Architecture Ltd is a RIBA Chartered Practice based in Oxford, known for its thoughtful and well-crafted architecture. Our work spans a wide range of project types, with particular expertise in the sensitive repair, adaptation and extension of Listed Buildings and buildings within historic contexts. We are a design-led studio committed to conservation, sustainability, and delivering high-quality architecture through close collaboration with clients, consultants and communities.
Role overview
We are seeking a Graduate Architectural Technologist to join our growing team in our Oxford studio. This is a full‑time, office‑based role, ideally suited to someone newly qualified or with up to two years’ professional experience, who is keen to contribute to the technical development and delivery of high‑quality architecture.
You will work closely with the design team across all RIBA stages, with a strong focus on technical coordination, detailed design, and heritage‑sensitive solutions. The role offers the opportunity to develop robust technical skills while supporting a broad range of well‑crafted projects in a collaborative studio environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of detailed technical drawings, specifications and coordinated information packages
- Support Building Regulations applications and the preparation of tender and construction documents
- Contribute to the development of conservation-led technical solutions for Listed Buildings and heritage assets
- Undertake measured surveys, site visits and technical inspections as required
- Collaborate with the design team, consultants and contractors to ensure coordinated project delivery
- Maintain Revit and AutoCAD drawing sets to a high standard
- Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations, heritage best practice, and sustainable construction standards
Skills & qualifications
- HNC/HND or Degree in Architectural Technology or equivalent
- Strong technical knowledge, ideally with some experience of working on historic and Listed Buildings
- Proficiency in Revit (preferred), AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with NBS specification writing and UK Building Regulations
- An interest in architectural conservation and traditional construction methods
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a small team
