The skills crisis in the construction sector requires 350,000 workers for the next decade.

This course is aimed at built environment professionals looking to further specialise, and already in the following careers: Architectural Technology, Building Performance Technologist, Structural Engineer, Architecture & Engineering, Technical sales & specification, Construction Management.

Learners gain specialist knowledge through 'learning by doing'. 

Learning is partially delivered in a studio environment with masterclasses, design activities, and is delivered in the workshop where learners apply knowledge gained during the online period. A design brief is presented to learners and they fulfil the criteria to manufacture and construct the design in the workshop. During 3 residential weeks, learners spend 3 days on campus, using a hybrid structure consisting of design studios and two 700sqm workshop areas that boast advanced timber technologies.

Entry requirements:

  • Learners will come from a built environment professional background or with similar educational background
  • Teaching will be conducted in English and students are expected to meet NMITE English language requirements
  • Learners will need to have the right to study in the UK
