Another way to bring early-careers apprentices into the industry in south-west England

Shared Apprenticeships is a not-for-profit social enterprise that aims to deliver measurable social impact and sustainability and environmental benefits.

As a CITB shared apprenticeship service contracted to work across south-west England and a Department for Education approved Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency, they can also hire apprentices on work placements in the construction industry and wider built environment.

In addition to the traditional trade, site management and technical roles (QS and Civils), Shared Apprenticeships can also hire apprentices for office-based roles including facilities management, data analysis, and business administration, and in new industry roles such as digital construction (drones), MMC installation and construction design.

They support contractors and their supply chain by arranging college provision and funding, finding apprentices, and ensuring they are site ready with CSCS card, PPE, and relevant health and safety training courses.

They also support throughout the placement with finance management – PAYE, pension, NI, college funding; HR management – right to work, contracts, probations, interventions, attendance, digital timesheets; an Apprentice Manager – a highly experienced mentor with enhanced DBS, safeguarding and mental health first aid qualifications who is in regular contact; professional and personal development opportunities – such as student membership of CIAT – and in seeing their apprentices through college and on to completion and a CSCS card upgrade (where applicable), without charging any recruitment fees on progression into the industry.
