BRE study: Part B (Fire safety) and modern construction technologies design and building use (closing date – 31 March 2021)

Your views invited.

Progress is now underway to research future options for Approved Document B: Fire safety (ADB).

BRE Global has been commissioned by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) to manage one of the workstreams in order to assess whether Approved Document B (ADB) provides up to date guidance for modern design and construction methods as well as building uses.

We have been asked to assist MHCLG to assess whether ADB adequately addresses the use of modern design and construction of buildings and their uses, and whether and where further research might be needed.

CIAT has been forwarded the details of a survey from BRE and they are asking for details of experiences with ADB when applied to modern construction technologies, and information regarding any issues that have arisen.

To take part in the survey, please click here. The closing date to submit your comments is Wednesday 31 March 2021.
