BS EN ISO 14001:2026 launched by BSI

The implementation of BS EN ISO 14001 can be required by customers, supply chains, or public tenders where environmental performance is part of the selection criteria – and the standard has just been updated

BS EN ISO 14001:2026 is an internationally recognized management system standard. It does not dictate environmental performance thresholds. Instead, it defines a structured, repeatable, organization‑wide way of managing environmental responsibilities.

Why the 2026 revision matters for your delivery
  • Expanded requirements for externally provided processes, products, and services, supporting stronger supply chain oversight on complex projects.
  • A new clause on change management, helping you keep environmental controls effective as sites, scopes, suppliers, and programmes shift.
  • Greater clarity on the internal audit programme, including objectives and inputs for management review, so audits drive consistent outcomes.
  • A revised structure designed to be easier to use, with improvement and continual improvement merged and clauses reordered for usability.
