CIAT held its first virtual Annual General Meeting on Saturday 14 November 2020.

On Saturday 14 November, CIAT held its Annual General Meeting, as an online event – a first for the Institute.

It included the unanimous approval of the accounts as well as the authorisation to Council to appoint the auditors. There were two Resolutions to be debated and voted on by the Voting Delegates, made up of representatives from the Regions and Centres. The following were approved and will be taken forward for implementation:

  • Resolution 1
    To amend the membership of the Conduct Committee:
    a) to remove the voting rights from the Honorary Secretary; and
    b) to state that a Trustee is ineligible to sit on the Conduct Committee.
  • Resolution 2
    That the Conduct & Disciplinary Procedures be amended to delete Clause 15a).

 

Eddie Weir PCIAT addresses Voting Delegates and attendees of the AGM


Eddie Weir PCIAT also delivered his Presidential address and a round-up of the Institute activities in 2020. He celebrated "a truly international AGM" and encouraged members to join him at a series of online events. Eddie also assured attendees that the Institute is there to support its members during this difficult time.

Kevin Crawford MCIAT became President Elect and Doug Fewkes MCIAT and Steven Hedley MCIAT assumed the positions of Honorary Treasurer and Vice-President Technical respectively.
