CIAT invites the public to explore identity, belonging and architecture at London Festival of Architecture 2026
Hosted in partnership with the Barbican Library and taking place on Saturday 20 June from 10:30–15:00, the interactive event, titled 'Your London', will encourage visitors to share the places, memories, sounds and experiences that shape their personal connection to the city.
Using large-scale printed boards, maps, stickers, drawings, written reflections, and recorded soundbites, participants will contribute to a collective visual and audio portrait of London. The installation will feature representations of landmarks, neighbourhoods, and everyday spaces including homes, workplaces, schools, and community settings, alongside blank canvases for free expression.
The event aims to spark conversation around architecture, placemaking and belonging, highlighting how buildings and shared spaces influence identity, memory and community life.
Throughout the day, attendees will be invited to participate in informal group discussions focused on inclusive design, community storytelling, and the responsibility designers hold in creating spaces that support connection and belonging.
'Your London' welcomes everyone to contribute whether through drawing, writing, speaking or simply sharing a memory.
