Member recognised for BIM work

A collaborative multi-disciplinary team from the Belfast School of Architecture, School of the Built Environment and Office for Digital Learning at Ulster University were recently recognised for their innovative approach to module delivery, making a substantial contribution to transforming the learning experience for students involved in built environment programmes, most notably Architectural Technology, Quantity Surveying and Civil Engineering.
 
The team comprised David Comisky MCIAT (Senior Lecturer in Architectural Technology) Mark McKane, Robert Eadie, Andrew Jaffrey and Gerard Ross.
 
The team were awarded a prestigious Distinguished Teaching Fellowship at the Winter Graduation Ceremony. This was in recognition for their work with local industry, strengthening its competitiveness and providing leadership by delivering Professional Development Programmes, Chairing the BIM Region Steering and BIM4Educators(NI) groupings and for aligning their teaching with professional practice and the latest international developments in relation to BIM. This work has proved to be highly beneficial, with Ulster graduates now highly sought after due to their knowledge of BIM theory and practice. The award also recognised their BeIMCraft initiative, developing a Minecraft based game to excite and inspire the next generation about the built environment sector.
