CPD monitoring 2017/18

5% of members will be contacted in May

It is a requirement that all members (excluding student members) have an obligation to undertake a minimum of 35 hours Continuing Professional Development (CPD) each year, as per Clause 7 of the Code of Conduct, which states:

Clause 7: Continuing Professional Development
The members (excluding student members) shall:
a) keep themselves informed of current practices and developments appropriate to the type and
    level of their responsibilities; and
b) be able to provide evidence that they have complied with the requirements for continuing
professional development (CPD) as published by the Institute from time to time.

Ensuring compliance with Institute policy, Council agreed the policy which requires for us to randomly select 5% of the eligible members for CPD monitoring.

What do I need to do?
To comply, you will need to declare that you have undertaken 35 hours of CPD within the period May 2017-April 2018.

If you have already been contacted by the Institute and asked to confirm that you have undertaken the 35 hours of CPD within this period but are yet to submit your acknowledgement, please click here and send the response to the Institute. Please ensure that we receive your response by Wednesday 31 May 2018.

Information on CPD and what it entails can be found on the website

Failure to forward your declaration that confirms you have undertaken the required hours of CPD could result in you being monitored on your CPD activity for the next three years, or referral to the Conduct Committee for consideration, or investigation as per the Institute’s Conduct and Disciplinary Procedures

N.B. you do not need to provide any evidence of what CPD you have done between 30 April 2017 and 1 May 2018 or return your CPD record card to the Institute – this information is for your use and retention only.
