External Wall Systems (EWS) Assessment Training Programme

Time is running out to secure a government funded place on the ABBE accredited External Wall System Assessment Training Programme.

The Level 6 training programme has succeeded in addressing the shortage of professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to carry out EWS assessments, also known as FRAEWs (Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls), for buildings under 18 metres, including producing reports and signing EWS1 forms for Option A and Option B in buildings with low or medium risk only.

There are still a limited number of funded places available for Chartered Architectural Technologists working in the UK. Please contact [email protected] for an application pack. Your application will need to be approved by CIAT, before applying for the programme via RICS. More information can be found here.

New applicants are invited to enrol on the training programme by the closing date of 31 March 2024.

External Wall System Assessment Training Programme will be continuing after 31 March as a pay as you go course. More information will be available via the RICS website in due course.
