Governors for schools required
CIAT are partnering with Governors for Schools, a charity that matches volunteers with schools who have vacancies for skilled professionals to sit on their governing bodies. School governors set the strategic direction of the school and shape plans for school development. They act as a critical friend to the Head Teacher, ensuring financial probity, challenging assumptions and providing an external perspective. Many volunteers find that while using their skills to improve the education provided they also gain new ones, whether these are in finance, HR, project management or softer skills, improved through working with a multi discipline team.
Strong governance improves school performance. Whatever your professional background, your skills are needed. Connect with your community and volunteer your skills and you’ll have the opportunity to influence strategy and decisions that can make a positive impact on children’s lives.
Governors for Schools will match your skills with schools that need you, taking into consideration your location and preferences.
