Architectural Technologist required
CR Design Services
CR Design Services is an architectural and structural design practice working on residential and small commercial projects across the North East. We take projects from initial feasibility and planning through to building regulations and construction detailing, with the structural design handled in house. Most of our work is house extensions, remodels, conversions and new builds, alongside a steady run of planning applications and technical packages.
We want to add an Architectural Technologist with around a couple of years of UK practice experience. This is not a senior post. It suits someone who has the basics under their belt and wants to broaden out across the full design process in a small team, where you see projects through from first sketch to site.
What the role involves
- Preparing planning and building regulations drawings and specifications
- Technical detailing and producing construction information
- Coordinating your drawings with our structural engineering side
- Liaising with clients, contractors and local authority planning and building control
- Carrying out measured surveys and site visits when needed
What we are looking for
- An HNC, HND or degree in architectural technology, or equivalent practice experience
- Around two years working in a UK architectural or design practice
- Competent in AutoCAD A working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and the planning process
- Able to produce clear, accurate, buildable drawings with limited supervision
- A full UK driving licence, as the role includes site visits
What we offer
- Up to £40k depending on experience.
- 35 paid days annual leave.
- Company pension scheme.
- Varied work across the whole design process rather than one narrow stage.
- Support towards MCIAT Chartership if that is your aim.
- A small, straightforward team and direct involvement in live projects.
