About Us
RMLA is a small architectural practice specialising in commercial retail projects. We work closely with clients throughout the construction process, providing high-quality technical drawings, design information and compliance services. As our client base grows, we’re looking to expand our hardworking and friendly Hove based team.
The Role
You will lead all aspects of architectural work on projects, producing and coordinating drawing packs, schedules, and technical information from initial concept phases through to completion for all RIBA stages. Your role will involve collaborating with clients and contractors as part of a wider design team to deliver highly functional and aesthetic schemes.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Producing and co-ordinating architectural drawings and detailed design information.
- Conducting site visits and surveys before and during construction.
- Liaising with clients, contractors and the wider design team.
- Running projects.
- Creative design & customer experience
- Compliance - ensuring that all works are carried out to the relevant standards, Building Regulations, Planning and other appropriate legislation.
- Working within budgets and timelines.
- Your professional development and keeping up to date with legislation and standards within the industry.
What we’re looking for:
- Degree or Higher in Architecture or Architectural Technology or equivalent professional experience with a minimum 2 years proven working experience in an Architectural practice in a UK, commercial setting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential (2D windows based) with excellent technical drawing and presentation skills.
- Demonstrable knowledge of building products and construction details.
- Sound technical knowledge and in depth understanding of relevant Building Regulations, British standards and other relevant legislation.
- Strong organisational, time management, communication and problem-solving skills. Able to liaise with clients and contractors effectively.
- Self-driven and disciplined with excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong command of written and spoken English to effectively convey ideas and concepts verbally and visually.
