This is an opportunity for someone who loves natural construction materials and technical specification to join our technical sales team – specifying and selling low carbon, healthy construction products to a range of residential and commercial clients for both new build and retrofit. Clients may include individual building owners, installers, builders, distributors or developers. Location:
Hybrid – Remote working with a minimum of 2 days per week at the IndiNature Mill, Scottish Borders.
Contract term and hours:
12-month maternity cover, full-time (with possibility to progress into a permanent role). Flexible working applications will be considered.
Holidays and benefits:
35 holidays p.a. Initial pension contribution of 4% from the company matching 4% personal (salary sacrifice).
Start date:
February 2025.

Your purpose is to ensure products are specified and installed in the best way for optimising performance, safety and health – and to support the sales team to close sales projects.

IndiNature is a growing company with a high profile - leading the way in cleantech construction material innovations. It was founded to make the largest possible positive impacts on the climate, the environment and people's health in the construction of buildings. We care about people and the planet. The company's manufacturing facility is in Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders, dedicated to making natural fibre thermal and acoustic insulation products. Raw materials include industrial hemp and jute fibres for example. These are processed through a non-woven textiles production line to make finished products for distribution. Who you will work with:
You'll be joining a team with a purpose – to ensure our products are well-specified for healthy, ecological buildings. While most individual customers will be taken care of directly by our distributors and their technical teams, you’ll provide key technical support for these distributors and other partners and for direct customer sales. You’ll be part of a growing sales team and be line managed by the UK Sales Director.
ROLE
You will be responsible for:
- Providing technical sales support to both the sales team and directly with clients
- Ensuring products are installed as specified in the company’s Install Guides
- Keeping Installation Guides up to date for best practice and regulatory compliance
- Providing drawings for Installation Guides and technical literature as required
- Making sure installed products comply with building regulations
- Ensuring products are installed for optimum performance and safety
- Reducing any risks with installations – particularly condensation risks
- Providing a good customer experience
- On occasion supporting the team at events such as trade shows
- Supporting the sales team to facilitate CPD sessions for architects and installers
- Supporting the sales team to close sales projects by providing technical support
Person specification key competencies:
- Attention to detail
- Ability to provide a positive client experience
- Able to communicate technical information in a clear manner
- A positive, can-do attitude - enjoys creative problem solving
- Value taking care of the environment
Essential experience or qualifications:
- Qualification as an Architectural Technologist or Technician
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the sector
- Experience with natural bio-based fibre insulations
- Excellent understanding of moisture and heat transfer movement in buildings
- Trained in WUFI modelling – basic training minimum
- Competent with U value calculations
- AutoCAD, Revit and Sketchup
- Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
- Excellent technical drawing skills
- Experience across a range of building types and clients
Preferred experience or qualifications:
- Some hands-on construction experience
- Thermal bridging risk analysis
- Sales or customer service experience in the sector
- Architectural rendering skills
Beneficial experience or qualifications:
- Embodied carbon calculations
- Delivering CPD sessions to architects or builders
- Chartered member of CIAT
