Role Description

Moreno Masey is seeking an Architectural Technologist to join its team in London.

We create exceptional spaces through thoughtful, technical, sustainable architecture. MorenoMasey is an award-winning design-led architecture and interiors practice. We have a passion for contemporary, sustainable design and work on bespoke residential and commercial projects at varied scales across London and the UK. We are currently working both remotely and from our office in Southwark.

We are looking for a talented and committed Architectural Technologist with experience and professionalism to work as part of a small team on bespoke residential and hospitality projects independently and alongside a project architect.

Responsibilities will include:

  • creating building designs using CAD and other specialist software. You may also need to draw them freehand
  • researching planning regulations and communicating with local authorities about planning permissions
  • preparation of written specifications and schedules
  • advising on materials, technology and processes involved in building design
  • drawing up risk assessments, reviewing surveys and investigating other issues that could affect how a building is designed
  • collating design information for each project and keeping it up to date.
  • advising clients and the in-house team of progress
  • preparing documents to help with achieving planning permission and similar approvals
  • visiting sites to check progress and inspect work
  • keeping up to date with legislation, standards and technological innovation


Skills:

  • an interest and ability in architecture and mathematics.
  • an eye for detail and design, with the ability to visualise objects in three dimensions (3D)
  • a logical and practical approach to problem-solving
  • planning and organisation skills
  • thorough understanding of Building Regulations (across the UK regions) and CDM regulations
  • the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team


Successful applicants will:

  • have working experience in sustainable design and architecture
  • have good direct working knowledge of all RIBA work stages
  • have a keen interest in high levels of design and detail
  • be proficient in Vectorworks, MS Office, InDesign and Photoshop


We use a pay formula to determine pay at Moreno Masey. We take median London Rates for the role from the RIBA Benchmarking Survey from the previous year and adjust for inflation, rounded to the nearest £500. The pay for this position is £41,000 (Part 3 up to five years’ post-qualification experience) plus a comprehensive benefits package after six months. We operate a pay formula to ensure fair market-level pay across the company and to ensure that there are no pay gaps based on gender, ethnicity or background. We are looking for the right candidate to start imminently (within the next month).
