Role Description

Bramhall Blenkharn Leonard Architects is a multi-award winning architectural practice based in the market town of Malton, North Yorkshire. The practice specialises in high-quality bespoke residential projects and commercial projects, and has carved a reputation as one of the leading residential practices in the north of England. The practice has won numerous awards over the years and has recently been awarded the LABC Regional Award for a sensitive conversion of a listed farm complex in the North York Moors National Park. Due to an expanding workload the practice is looking to recruit an Architectural Technologist to join our studio in Malton. 

Job description
​The ideal candidate will have excellent working knowledge of the Building Regulations and experience of working on domestic residential projects at various levels. You will be working on a variety of project scales from medium size domestic extensions to large country houses and Estates. Depending on the nature of applications received, the practice is seeking to recruit either two junior level technologists or a single senior technologist.

Requirements (all candidates)

  • Undergraduate degree in Architectural Technology, Architectural Engineering, or similar awarded by a UK or European university
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills
  • Good technical knowledge and skills
  • Excellent technical drawing capability and presentation skills
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Working knowledge of UK Building Regulations
  • UK driving license and car
  • Working knowledge of Graphisoft ArchiCAD (desirable, but training can be provided)
  • Experience of working on Apple Mac (desirable, but training can be provided)


Additional Requirements (Senior Architectural Technologist)

  • MCIAT status
  • Experience of running projects on site
  • Capability of liaising with clients and consultants effectively


N.B. this is an office based position with no applications for remote working accepted. Salary Commensurate to experience and in line with published industry salary guides.
