Role Description

Award-winning multi-disciplinary practice Assael Architecture is looking to recruit a CIAT registered Architectural Technologist to join the team. We operate from modern design studios in Putney, London with around 75 staff and we pride ourselves on our friendly, sociable, and supportive team environment. Assael Architecture provides a cohesive suite of architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and visualisation services both in the UK and internationally. We work across a range of sectors, including hospitality, commercial and masterplanning, and specialise in residentially-led mixed-use schemes. We have many years of experience both in the refurbishment of listed buildings and the implementation of new build developments on redundant or brownfield sites. The practice has recently won the British Homes Award for Best Community Building, Sunday Mills and shortlisted for several others including Mixology North Award finalist for New Victoria. The successful candidate must have the following qualifications, skills and expertise:

  • CIAT registered Architectural Technologist with 1-2 years minimum experience
  • Proven experience on large residentially-led schemes in the UK from RIBA Stage 3 onwards
  • Knowledge of using NBS Chorus specification system on large residentially-led schemes
  • Good working knowledge of Revit is essential
  • Sound knowledge of current UK building regulations
  • Ability to work to a high standard as part of a team and independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Summary of main responsibilities are to:

  • Execute project work as directed by Associate Director in co-operation with other assigned staff, preparing of tender and technical design packages and specifications
  • Attend external project related meetings as requested by Associate/Associate Director
  • Contribute to internal team meetings and design reviews as assigned by Associate
  • Engage with suppliers to obtain technical information related to project specific requirements
  • Specific duties assigned by Associate Director informing them of all project-related information and developments
  • Work with Head of BIM and Studio 4 Associate Directors to develop and enhance BIM, detail libraries and office masters specfications
  • Maintain CIAT membership and adhere to the CIAT Code of Conduct
  • Ensure general conformance with all related aspects of the Assael Quality Management System
