Terms and Conditions: Events organised and managed by CIAT
1. Ticket purchases and attendance
1.1. All ticket purchases for events that are organised and managed by CIAT are final. No cancellations, exchanges or refunds will be provided under any circumstances, except as outlined under clause 3 (Force Majeure) or clause 4 (Medical Exemption).
1.2. Tickets are non-transferable without prior written concent from CIAT.
1.3. Admission to the event may be refused or revoked without a refund if the attendee does not comply with these Terms and Conditions or engages in any behaviour deemed disruptive or inappropriate by CIAT.
2. Display of attendee information
2.1. By purchasing a ticket, the attendee consents to their full name, preferred pronouns and place of work being displayed publicly on the event website and/or promotional materials as part of the published list of attendees.
2.2. If an attendee does not wish for their workplace to be displayed, they must contact CIAT in writing within five business days of ticket purchase. Name display is mandatory and non-negotiable.
3. Force majeure
3.1. CIAT shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform any of its obligations if such delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to: events outside human control, war, terrorism, pandemic, epidemic, civil disorder, labour strikes, natural disaster, government action or any similar event (“force majeure event”).
3.2. In the event that the CIAT event is cancelled or postponed due to a force majeure event, CIAT may, at its sole discretion, provide a partial or full refund, or transfer the ticket to a rescheduled date.
4. Medical exemption – illness
4.1. In the event that the attendee is unable to attend due to illness, a refund will only be considered upon submission of a valid medical certificate or GP note confirming the inability to attend on the scheduled date.
4.2. The GP note must be dated no later than 48 hours after the event and submitted within seven calendar days post-event.
4.3. All medical exemption requests will be assessed individually, and the decision of CIAT is final.
5. Liability and disclaimer
5.1. CIAT accepts no responsibility for any loss, injury, or damage to persons or property, howsoever caused, in connection with the event.
5.2. Attendees are responsible for their own belongings at the event. CIAT accepts no liability for theft, loss or damage.
6. Event Code of Conduct
6.1. All attendees are expected to behave respectfully and professionally at all times and in line with the ‘Engaging with CIAT’ notice here.
6.2. CIAT reserves the right to remove any individual from the event without a refund for inappropriate behaviour, including harassment of any kind, intoxication or disruption.
7. Photography and media
7.1. The event may be recorded, photographed or streamed. By attending, you consent to the use of your image or likeness for promotional purposes.
8. Governing law
8.1. These terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the event is held. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
By purchasing a ticket, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these terms and conditions in full.
9. External providers
9.1. In cases where the event is organised or co-hosted by an external provider or third-party organisation, the attendee acknowledges and agrees that their participation is also subject to the terms and conditions of that external provider.
9.2 CIAT accepts no responsibility for the content, management or delivery of events run by external providers, and any claims, disputes or issues must be addressed directly with the external provider.
