Consultation: ISO/NP 16739-1 – Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) for data sharing in the construction and facility management industries – Part 1 – Data schema (closing date – 1 January 2022)
Your views invited.
We have been advised of a consultation on the following ISO/NP 16739-1 – Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) for data sharing in the construction and facility management industries – Part 1 – Data schema, and the scope of this standard is that the proposed revision of ISO 16739-1:2018 focuses on additions to the data schema and reference data, to further support the infrastructure domains, particularly for bridges, roads, rails, ports and waterways and common foundations, such as alignment, terrain, strata and earthworks.
The scope of the proposed revision is in line with the overall scope mention of ISO 16739-1:2018 "to include data definitions for infrastructure assets over their life cycle as well", with the general scope and title of ISO 16739 being an international standard for "data sharing in the construction and facility management industries" remains valid.
You can submit your responses directly to BSI via the link here, and the deadline to submit your comments is 1 January 2022.
