CITB launches consultation on Functional Competence
The proposal would recognise competence in specific functions or activities within an occupation, rather than requiring competence across an entire role. It aims to recognise existing skills and experience, support career progression and reduce unnecessary duplication, while maintaining rigorous assessment and quality assurance standards.
The industry-wide consultation is open to employers, training providers and the existing workforce until 15 January 2027. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
