Consultation on BSI Flex 8670: Built Environment – Overarching framework for competence of individuals (version 2) (deadline – 29 January 2021)

Your views invited.

CIAT is fortunate that Sam Allwinkle PPBIAT MCIAT has been asked to review the second version of BSI Flex 8670 and the result of BSi's Project Advisory Group.

BSI's Flex Standards intends to provide a new, flexible way to develop consensus-based good practice that dynamically adapts to keep pace with fast-changing markets. These Flex standards are produced by the UK national standards body, BSI Standards Limited. The development of BSI Flex 8670 has been sponsored by The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and is part of a wider programme of work around competence in the built environment.

To assist Sam in his response, we would be grateful if you could consider the following questions and provide feedback:

Did you find the proposed Standard easy to understand?
Do you think it is relevant to you as a Chartered Member?
Do you think you could use this standard?
If your answer is yes, how would you use it?
If your answer is no, what would you expect to see in this document?
Any other observations?
Do you think this Standard is flexible enough to work across industry?

For reference, find the document here. You must register for free online (new users) and log in to view the document.

Please forward your responses to [email protected] by Friday 29 January 2021. Apologies for the quick turnaround for comments regarding this.
