Consultation: Quality Assurance Agency Subject Benchmark Statement for Architectural Technology

Your views invited.

Staff and students from higher education establishments, employers and professional, statutory and regulatory bodies (PSRBs) are invited to respond to a consultation on the Subject Benchmark Statement (SBS) for Architectural Technology, which has been reviewed by QAA in collaboration with an expert Subject Advisory Group.

A SBS describes the nature of study and the academic standards expected of graduates in specific subject areas. It outlines what graduates might reasonably be expected to know, do and understand at the end of their studies. Alongside discipline-specific information, the revised Statements consider the role of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), education for sustainable development (ESD), enterprise and entrepreneurship, and accessibility for disabled students within the context of the respective discipline area.

QAA leads the development of SBSs and reviews them on a cyclical basis to ensure they continue to serve as useful points of reference for their respective discipline communities. To ensure each review considers a diverse and broad spectrum of intelligence, opinion and experience, each SBS was reviewed by an advisory group comprising members of the academic community, employers, PSRBs and students.

How to respond
The consultation document for Architectural Technology is published on QAA's consultation webpage and responses should be submitted via the online survey.

The closing date for responses is 12:00 on Thursday 9 December; the final statements will be published in spring 2022.

CIAT will be responding to the consultation but if you have any queries or comments you would like to make us aware of then please email these to [email protected].
