Digital Product Passports: UK standards consultation
Digital Product Passports (DPPs) provide detailed digital records for construction products, enabling improved transparency, sustainability, and lifecycle management within the built environment. The six draft standards open for consultation (closing date 18 August 2025) are:
- BS EN 18219 – Unique identifiers
- BS EN 18220 – Data carriers
- BS EN 18221 – Data storage, archiving, and data persistence
- BS EN 18216 – Data exchange protocols
- BS EN 18222 – APIs for the product passport lifecycle management and searchability
- BS EN 18223 – System interoperability
How to get involved
- Review and comment on the drafts: Register on the BSI Standards Development Portal.
- Join the Standards Committee (IST/47/-3): Industry representatives interested in shaping these standards can apply.
- Attend the webinar: Participate in an upcoming public webinar on EU DPP and ESPR standards, featuring a Q&A session with cross-sector experts. More details here.
